The Brief
At Hamersley Public Golf Course in Karrinyup, the City of Stirling was after bin enclosures that did more than tidy away a wheelie bin – they needed to look at home on a manicured course while standing up to constant outdoor use. Exteria supplied six Driftwood Bin Surrounds for the grounds, finished in a soft Pearl White that settles quietly into the landscape.
A finish chosen to blend in
The brief was as much about aesthetics as function – a bin surround that complements a well-kept course rather than drawing the eye. The chosen finish does exactly that: a soft Pearl White gloss powdercoat (hood and body the same colour) that sits quietly against the greens and fairways, a neat skillion hood for simple, contemporary lines, and timber-look Driftwood slats that add natural warmth without competing with the landscape.
Timber look, none of the upkeep
The signature of the Driftwood Bin Surround is its timber-look slats – but they’re not timber. They’re powder-coated aluminium, so they hold that natural appearance without the splitting, warping, rot or re-oiling real timber demands in a high-traffic outdoor setting. On a busy public course exposed to sun and weather year-round, that means a surround that keeps looking the part with minimal maintenance, long after real timber would need attention.
Waste and recycling across the grounds
Exteria supplied six units in total, giving the course a clear, consistent two-stream system:
- 3 x general waste Driftwood Bin Surrounds (240L)
- 3 x recycling Driftwood Bin Surrounds (240L)
Placed across the grounds, the matched units make it easy for visitors to sort their waste while keeping the wheelie bins neatly screened and out of view.
The Result
Hamersley Public Golf Course now has a tidy, cohesive run of bin surrounds that look the part and are built to last – practical infrastructure that blends into the course rather than competing with it.
Exteria was proud to supply the City of Stirling with a solution that balances form, function and low-maintenance durability.
